    • WTF? I hope the author plans on a second book. I just got to know if everyone gets their HEA

    • Years before on the verge of having sex for the very first time, Dylan and Alex had been caught by Alex's father. Enraged, he threatened to sue Dylan since he was of legal age and she was, unfortunately, not. That lead to many realizations and Dylan was forced to leave town, assuring Alex that he was never looking back. But he did and now he was back. With a murder looming over their heads, an enraged suitor, Dylan's family issues and with someone actually targeting Alex this time - will they be [...]

    • Fatal Exposure is a New Adult Romantic Suspense. In southern Arizona near the border, a body is found shot and mummified by the dry desert heat. Alex is the daughter of the small town's local newspaper and picks up the story of the homicide for a front page article. While taking photos of the crime scene, Alex runs into her high school flame, Dylan. What ensues is the reigniting of an old flame with new fire, the opportunity to grow up, murder, kidnapping, fear, and love.I absolutely recommend t [...]

    • It's a 4.25Dylan and Alex are old sweethearts who meet under completely unexpected circumstances later in life. Circumstances that make for a thrilling and suspenseful read. A story that does not take ages to take off, it is a book that one can read in little time.A Forest Ranger and an investigative journalist and a mystery surrounding them.Very enjoyable.

    • Fatal Exposure is a competent romantic suspense/mystery novel. The attraction between the two leads is well presented, as is the stumbling block created by their history. The suspense/mystery slant is solid, although I think the blurb's hints that both hero and heroine are implicated in the murder are misleading. The book's pace is great, never slowing too long for long passages of inactivity or introspection. Information and details about the US Border Patrol, smugglers of people and of drugs, [...]

    • Fifteen-year old Alexis Eleanor Ward is about to have her first sexual experience with her boyfriend, the 18-year old Native Indian American hottie called Dylan Chaves who is back-up quarterback in high school, when her father walks in her bedroom with a shotgun prompting the gallant exit of the hero from the scene for four long years when he suddenly shows up while she is standing over the body of a dead man, photographing him for her dad’s paper. Now, 19, and still a virgin, she dreams of run [...]

    • Here’s a solid romantic suspense novel. It has a good balance of both, the romantic plot thread compliments the suspense and vice versa. The hero, Dylan, and heroine, Alexis, have some juicy relationship clutter which makes their interactions edgy from the start and keeps the tension between them high throughout. It’s a nice easy read, with clean writing and quick punchy chapters. The plot doesn’t takes ages to warm up. It leaps in from page one with a mysterious dead body, and the reunion [...]

    • I really enjoyed this one suspense danger and a re-united hero and heroine set in the desert close to Mexico there is murder and mayhem as reporter Alex gets a bit close to the truth and park ranger Dylan who has loved Alex for four years since they were at school is determined to keep her safe and get to the bottom of the story that is linked to his half brothers father. There is lots going on as Alex and Dylan journey to a HEA along a rocky and dangerous path.

    • Author Jeffries does an expert job of interweaving romance and mystery in Fatal Exposure. Alex, the female lead, is a young woman with her head screwed on straight. She's intent on getting the education she needs to make a career for herself. She has ambition. She also has compassion for other less fortunate. She occasionally backsteps into a younger persona as she fusses about what to wear to make the right impression, but on the whole, she's intelligent, courageous, and likeable.Dylan, the 'ol [...]

    • "Fatal Exposure" by Jamie Jeffries is my first read by this author but it will not be my last. That it happens in the Southwestern desert is a plus since I grew up in New Mexico.Alex had her heart broken by Dylan when they were teenagers. Being caught naked in bed by her Dad Dylan high tailed it out of town shortly afterward. Fast forward a few years Dylan is now a sexy Forest Ranger, and Alex works for the paper. Alex and Dylan are back in each others lives only now a murder/mystery surrounds t [...]

    • 4.5 Stars! This book has a good combination of suspense and mystery. After four years Dylan has returned home to try and make peace with his past. Alex believed that she would be better off if he never came back. But when a mysterious dead body shows up in the desert, Dylan and Alex's lives will become intertwined once again. I was happy to see more of a relationship develop between Dylan and Alex and look forward to learning more about their future together.

    • FATAL EXPOSURE by author Jamie Jeffries is a February 2015 release.I loved this story as it took us on a journey of self discovery by Alex and Dylan. They had history, now they had a murderer to catch.Highly recommended for all readers.

    • she loved him in high school but things turned bad and he disappeared now he returns and besides being as hot as he was before they now have a murder to solve . This book has it all and best of all a second chance at love.

    • FATAL EXPOSURE by Jamie Jeffries is the first book I've read by this author. The characters seem so real and with a gripping plot veers this story towards a fulfilling end. Entertaining until the last page! The concoction of suspense and mystery makes this a splendid read.Highly Recommended.

    • In a border town in southern Arizona, local police discover a mummified body in the desert. Nineteen year old Alex, a reporter and photographer for the local newspaper, is tasked with reporting on the grisly scene. While she's taking pictures of the body, local park ranger Dylan arrives. Alex and Dylan haven't seen each other since he broke up with her 4 years ago, after her father discovered them together in her bedroom. Now, they're both on the case to discover the identity of the murdered man [...]

    • Never say never. Dylan and Alex were caught by her father and Dylan promised to never return. Four years later, they meet again over a corpse. Alex is an inspiring investigative reporter who is searching for the facts surrounding the corpse. But she is distracted by her need to know the answer to what could have been. This book is a romantic suspense novel. Dylan and Alex have such chemistry that keeps the romance hot. The who or what that is involved with the corpse keeps the reader guessing. T [...]

    • The romance - suspense story was okay, but the narration almost destroyed the book. Unfortunately, it´s rather difficult to understand the story well when the narrator often speaks with a woman's voice when it's a man and sometimes the other way around too. It made it quite difficult to enjoy the story. It doesn't end in a cliffhanger, but the story continues in book 2, so you have to read/listen to both books to get a (happy?) ending on the love story.*****I was given this audiobook for free in [...]

    • Great Book!! Review to come soon! 4.5 starsMany thanks to the author, Jamie Jeffries, who provided me a free copy of this entire series (yes, she’s THAT awesome) in exchange for my honest review. And as it has become my custom when warranted, I’ll put this here: This whole series has LOVELY cover art. It’s beautiful. Alex Ward is a amateur reporter at her dad’s paper, in their small town of Dodge, Arizona. (This is southern Arizona, right on the border of Mexico) When she gets word that [...]

    • I normally wouldn’t consider myself that great a fan of the Romance-genre, but maybe that is due to unfortunate earlier book experiences. After having put “Fatal Exposure” down though, I must say I have somewhat changed my mind. Although the most central part of the plot is the romantic relationship between the protagonist Alexis and her former teenage-crush Dylan, who left town after having fallen out with Alexis father, but now has returned as a still young and even more handsome Nationa [...]

    • Steamy, Complex Romance Fatal Exposure is the first book in the Desert Heat series by Jamie Jeffries. The beginning of the story leaves wondering what will happen next. By the end of the first chapter, I could not wait to finish the book. The author did a good job of drawing the reader in to her world. She did a great job of making it very realistic. The pace of the story was a bit slow at some points and fast is others. The main characters and the secondary characters were exciting and believab [...]

    • OMG Jamie's gone and done it again.I was on my tender hooks and heart in my mouth from start to finish with what everything going on and happening between either one or both of Dylan and Alex 'Lexie' he's returned back to Dodge after 4 years away when her father Paul practically ran him out of town at the age of 18 as he nearly caught them loosing their virginities but Lexie was only 15.Dylan's back home to look after his dying mother and get his half brothers back home and adopt them from their [...]

    • Suspenseful romantic read. The story takes place in southern Arizona, close to the border with Mexico were drug traffic crime and illegal border crossings are part of everyday life. When a mummified body is found Alex who works for her dad's local news paper goes to investigate. At the scene Alex runs into her ex high school boyfriend Dylan who appears to be back in town. Dylan is at the scene to try and find out whether the victim might be his step father who disappeared a few weeks before. Thei [...]

    • Great read!Wonderful suspenseful read! My attention was caught from the first thrilling page, and the stakes and the tension only spiraled from there. I love getting to know Alex and Dylan, and see how their relationship grew from the foundation of their tumultuous past. The book opened my eyes to see the danger in the desert, especially for those who try to cross the border illegally. While what they did was wrong, they too deserve humane treatment, and I'm glad Alex was brave and compassionate [...]

    • I read it for free on amazon and I am glad I did. Though not a 5 star read it was still an interesting book and will read the next book when it comes out.My only concern was she was only 19 though technically and adult she is still not a grown up. But the author tried to portray her as a women at times. She is still a teenage girl. I wish the characters were maybe five years older, giving them a more seasoned outlook on life.My other pet-peeve (view spoiler)[ Why did she not try to escape out of [...]

    • I received this book for an honest review. This is my first book by Ms. Jeffries and definitely will not be the last. First off Ms. Jeffries does a fantastic job describing the southwestern setting that I love so well.Fatal Exposure is about the relationship between two teenagers that falls apart, yet years later they’re given a second chance at building something lasting. Good story.
